First post to break in the blog

Well, I never really thought that I'd put together any sort of a blog page. I just figured this would be a fun way to document the course of my motorcycle trip in August from Santa Barbara to Portland and back. In 24 days I'll be setting out on my Kawasaki on day 1 of a planned 4 day trip up to P-land to visit my friends Jeff and Kimberlee. I've never been to Portland (or Oregon for that matter) so I'm looking forward to exploring along the way.
